Systemvetardagen returns to Kista on 18 February, marking 30 years as a student-led career fair focused on IT. The day brings together companies, organisations and students to explore skills needs, career paths and the future of the IT profession.
Organised entirely by students at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) through the student union DISK, the fair is free to attend and requires no prior registration.
Throughout the day, exhibitors and students meet to build connections and discuss future career opportunities within IT. The programme also includes lectures with invited speakers, offering perspectives on technology, competence development and working life in the sector.
Theme: Inspire, engage & shape the future of STEM
This year’s theme highlights future competence needs and the importance of role models within science and technology. Organisations invited in connection with the theme include Datatjej, Hello World!, Unga Forskare and Vetenskapens Hus.
The keynote speaker is Vahid Zohali, CEO of IBM Sweden, with the talk “From Curiosity to Impact: A Personal Journey Through Generative AI and Cybersecurity.”
Who should attend?
Systemvetardagen is aimed primarily at IT students and recent graduates, as well as companies and organisations looking to connect with future IT talent. It is also relevant for those interested in skills development and the evolving role of STEM competences within the IT sector.
